Format
Contestants will be randomly split in two groups with the size depending on the number of participants. Each group plays a series of the same randomly selected songs, after which the top players proceed to the next round, determined by average place of the series (KotH style). This then seeds for the next series of songs, until only 4 players remain. The difficulty of the random songs will increase from 9 to 13 throughout the rounds. The final 4 will play one last series, determining who goes to the finals and battle for 3rd place.
The 3rd place and final rounds will be a best-of-3 and best-of-5 respectively, where the players are free to choose any song of the pack that hasn’t previously been placed, as long as the difficulty is at least 11 or higher. In case of a tie, the tiebreaker will be selected randomly.
Allowed Settings
No settings that change the chart (no-mines, mirror etc.) are allowed. C-mod is also not allowed. Decents and Way-Offs must both be on. Other than that, all settings that change mini, scroll speed and backgrounds are allowed.
The tournament will consist of two tiers: HYPER and ANOTHER which roughly correspond to a skill range of 7 – 9 and 10 – 12 respectively. Within each tier, players will play a set of 3 qualifier songs, whose scores are added up to give a total score for that player. The two players with the highest total score will then move on to the finale, where each player gets to pick a song that both players compete on. The scores of the final round are then summed up for each player, and the winner is declared based on the highest total score obtained in the final round. Use of mirror, random, and mirror+random is allowed.
The tournament will consist of two tiers: ADVANCED and EXHAUST, which roughly correspond to a skill range of 13- 15 and 18- 19 respectively. Valkyrie mode and scoring is not available.
