For seeding, all players play two songs from the competition pack; one 7 and one 11. Your seeding score will be the sum of the two. You can pick any 7 and 11 you’d like, and retries are allowed. Please submit your scores any time before the actual tournament date.
The format will be a double-elimination King of the Hill (KotH) style tournament. Depending on the qualifier seed, players are divided into several groups (depending on total participants) where they will face off KotH-style against other players within their group. This means playing up to three songs again depending on total participants) where your total points will be determined by your rank per song. Scoring in the lower-half of your group means losing a life and being put against the people with 1 remaining life from the other group(s). After losing both lives, you receive your final rank. The difficulties of charts played will increase every round.
If it happens to work out so that after 3 rounds there are still 5 or more players remaining, there will be sudden-death rounds where the remaining players face off one song at a time and the last x-places (again depending on number of players) lose a life after each song.
The top-4 will move on to 1v1 matches to determine the top-4 order.
There are 16 participants. For the first round, these will be split in two groups of 8 depending on qualifier score.
You play 3 songs, a 7, 8 and 9 and place 2nd, 5th and 4th. This will net you 7+4+5=16 points, which happens to be 3rd place. You will now move on to round2 with 2 lives left.
You play 3 more songs in a different group (consisting of the top-4 of both round1 groups), a 9, 10 and 11 and place 5th in total this time. You will now lose a life and move on to round3 with 1 life left.
In round 3 you’re now facing off against 8 others in your group, play an 11, 12 and 13 and you manage to get 4th.
Let’s for example say that there are 7 people alive still. You will now play a sudden-death round consisting of only one song, where anyone not placing top-4 will lose a life. This repeats until the top-4 is established.
For the finales, the top-4 will play a best-of-3 (Bo3) against each other; 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd (based on round3 or round4 if applicable). Each player can pick any of the songs from the pack, as long as its difficulty is 11 or above. In case of a tie, a 3rd song will be selected at random.
